1. Hardness and Heat Treatment Status Inspection

Regular hardness measurements are performed on the barrel surface using a hardness tester. A hardness drop exceeding the design threshold is considered critical for life.

Inspect the integrity of the heat treatment layer. Uneven annealing or tempering may lead to material fatigue.

2. Surface Wear and Corrosion Observation

The inner wall of the Single Screw Barrel is visually inspected or examined under a microscope to assess wear depth and corrosion spot distribution.

Replacement or overhaul is required when the wear depth exceeds 10% of the wall thickness or significant corrosion is observed.

3. Operating Temperature and Pressure Cycle Recording

The highest temperature, peak pressure, and number of cycles during long-term operation are recorded using a data acquisition system.

After the number of operations exceeding the design temperature/pressure range reaches a certain threshold, the fatigue life of the barrel will significantly decrease.

4. Maintenance Records and Lifespan Prediction Models

Establish a complete maintenance log, including operations such as cleaning, lubrication, and seal replacement.

Combined with historical operating data, lifespan prediction models (such as Weibull analysis) assess the remaining lifespan and develop replacement plans in advance.
